Before you begin using the exemption letter builder, it is advisable that you come up to speed on religious exemptions according to US law.
There are protections in place both in state and federal law.
The main one we will focus on is federal, but we encourage you to research and include individual state regulations as well.
You can file religious exemptions in all 50 states, 46 states provide additional protections to the federal.
Our main protection is the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Which states: The term “religion” includes all aspects of religious observance and practice, as well as belief, unless an employer demonstrates that he is unable to reasonably accommodate to an employee’s or prospective employee’s religious observance or practice without undue hardship on the conduct of the employer’s business
Ergo, an employer must allow all aspects of religious belief, unless he is unable to reasonably accommodate them without undue hardship, which HE must be able to prove in court.
DOH regulations, OSHA rules, company rules, or federal, local or state mandates and executive orders can NOT override the Civil Rights Act of 1964 without the law being changed by an act of Congress.

Also remember. All exemption filings are about YOUR personal religious beliefs. You do not need to be denominationally in lock step or a church member under federal law, although being one may help in certain instances (under final rule amendment 41 CFR 60-1.3 by adding definitions of the following key terms: “Particular religion”; “Religion”; “Religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society”; and “Sincere.” The final rule adds several examples within the definition of “Religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society” to illustrate the types of contractors that may qualify for the religious exemption. The final rule also adds a rule of construction in 41 CFR 60-1.5 to provide the maximum legal protection of religious exercise permitted by the Constitution and laws including the Religious Freedom Restoration Act).
It does not matter how long you have believed, it can be minutes. You simply must attest you sincerly believe, and act accordingly.
You should if possible also ask your employer or human resource office what reasons your filing might be rejected or what if anything must be included.
